FAITH
WE BELIEVE the absolute best way to learn and understand any community of faith is to experience it in a relational way for yourself. Statements of faith can tell you the “what,” but never the “who.” We encourage you who seek to know who we are to please come to one of our weekly meetings and experience our faith for yourself.
The following is a statement of our position on basic Christian doctrine. It was once said, “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, and in all things charity.” We are committed to truth and accuracy in doctrine, but also understand that one can hold right doctrines and still do damage to the body of Christ by causing divisions over the non-essentials. So, we extend grace and tolerance to all those that may not hold our non-essential views and expect that same attitude from others.
BIBLE - We believe the entire Bible to be the inspired, infallible Word of God, the revelation of God's will for man and the divine and final authority for the Christian life.
Deuteronomy 17:18-20 | Matthew 5:17-20 | 2 Timothy 3:16-17 | 1 Thessalonians 2:13
2 Peter 1:16-21
GOD - We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who is revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1-2 | Deuteronomy 6:4 | John 15:26
JESUS - We acknowledge Jesus Christ as true God and true man – conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, crucified, and resurrected – our High Priest and Advocate now seated at the right hand of God the Father.
Matthew 1:18-21 | Luke 2:1-7 | John 1:1-16 | Hebrews 5:5-10; 12:2
HOLY SPIRIT - We believe in the present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose purpose is to glorify Jesus Christ and instruct and empower every believer for godly living and service. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, believers of their righteousness, and judges the enemy; and that He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, indwelling and sealing all believers for redemption. We believe that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is a promise from the Father for every believer and is distinct and subsequent to the experience of the new birth that empowers us to demonstrate spiritual gifts and succeed in service to others.
Matthew 3:11 | John 16:5-15 | Acts 2:1-12,38-39; 19:1-7 | Romans 8:9-17
1 Corinthians 12:1-14
PEOPLE - We believe that people were created in the image and likeness of God, but that through Adam's sin the race fell, inherited a rebellious nature, and became alienated from God. Alone, people are utterly unable to remedy their condition.
Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-24 | Romans 3:21-26; 5:12-21 | Ephesians 2:1-13
SALVATION - We believe in personal salvation and forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, acknowledging every person's need for the grace and mercy of God. Being born again and receiving salvation are terms used to describe the re-creation and restoration of the human spirit. Confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord and accepting by faith in your heart His forgiveness for your sins completes this experience.
John 3:1-21 | Ephesians 1:7; 2:8 | 1 Peter 1:3-5 | 1 John 1:8-10 | 2 Corinthians 5:17
Romans 10:9-10
CHURCH - We believe that the church, which is the body and espoused bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons in this present age. We believe that the establishment and continuance of local communities is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament scriptures and that Jesus is the head of His church. We recognize water baptism and the Lord's supper as scriptural means of testimony for the church in this age.
Matthew 16:18-19 | Acts 2:42-47 | 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, 12:12-14 | Ephesians 1:22-23
KINGDOM - We believe that the Kingdom of God is the governing influence of our King over His territory. It is what was established in the Garden of Eden, it is what Adam and Eve lost through their rebellion, and it is what Jesus came to restore. It is the only message Jesus preached throughout His earthly ministry and it has priority for believers today. The King seeks to impact us with His purpose to produce a culture that reflects His desire for us, His citizens. He has chosen His church as the vehicle for territorial advancement in this age by delegating operational authority and power to us with the mandate to advance His influence before He returns.
Genesis 1:26-28 | Matthew 4:17, 6:33, 28:18-20 | Mark 1:15 | Luke 4:43 | John 18:33-38
ETERNITY - We believe that those who are truly redeemed are kept by God's power and are secure in Christ forever. We believe in the eventual resurrection of the dead, the eternal communion with God for the saved, and the eternal separation from God for the lost. We believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that His appearance will be accompanied by a bodily resurrection of those who have died in Christ and the eventual resurrection of both the just and unjust for the Day of Judgment. Jesus will return to the earth to establish His Kingdom’s reign and renew and restore the earth and dwell with us forever as He intended from the beginning.
Matthew 24:29-31 | John 10:27-30, 14:1-6 | Romans 8:38-39 | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Revelation 20:11-21:4
