HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

When was the last time you were offered real help? Not another church program or a referral to a “ministry” information desk, but real help.

In John chapter 5, Jesus walked up to a disabled man who had been lying next to the Pool of Bethesda everyday for 38 years and asked him one simple question. “Do you want to be healed?” It was a question of desire. Did he desire to be healed or was he content with the crippling physical condition he’d grown used to? Jesus, of course, was both willing and able to help, but this man would have to take a risk. He would have to settle the question of desire and trust that Jesus had his best interests at heart.

In the same way that Jesus was looking for the desire of the man at the Pool of Bethesda, He is looking for your heart’s desire today. Jesus was a servant leader and understood that it is hard to help someone who doesn’t know what they want. If someone’s unclear about what they desire, then it’s difficult to offer them any help at all.
